Take a stab at "Scary Movie" on the Newcity.com boards >>

If you think the Farrelly Brothers went too far with "Me, Myself & Irene," then you might just as well skip the latest gross-out extravaganza from the Wayans clan. "This is the sort of 'horror' movie where fake blood is actually the second-most-seen bodily fluid," notes Greg Dean Schmitz of UpcomingMovies.com. "What 'American Pie' and 'There's Something About Mary' had mere drops of, 'Scary Movie' hurls at you by the gallon."

But come on, you know you want to see a slasher-flick parody where the killer in the fright mask does bong hits with his potential victims. That moment, part of a slick trailer campaign, should help "Scary Movie" cut into the mainstream blockbusters currently dominating the summer box office.

It might seem like overkill, the idea of parodying the utterly self-conscious "Scream" franchise--along with stabs at "The Blair Witch Project," "I Know What You Did Last Summer," and other teen-slasher titles. But if the jokes are hit-and-run more than they're hit-and-miss, the movie might just leave audiences in stitches. However, when the concept-sharing "I Know What You Screamed Last Summer" hits theaters in a few months, don't be surprised if a deathly silence falls over the multiplex.
