Subash Gurung and his bag of knives
File this under “what the hell was he thinking?” Last November 3, less than two months after the attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade Center, Subash Gurung—a Nepalese international living in the U.S. on a student visa, attempted to board a flight to Omaha with a bag full of knives and one stun gun. His justification? Protection, naturally. Not surprisingly, a judge recently ordered Gurung to undergo a mental competency check.
