Info Island Gallery and artslib
Not content with what passes for art in Second Life (typically 2D images pasted on a wall), the curatorial team of virtual art, artslib, became interested in art forms that could exist only within the limitless walls of SL. At the invitation of Info Island Gallery, a nonprofit visual- and virtual-art space, artslib curated a selection of interactive sculptures and environments. This includes Daruma Picnic’s singing sculpture that responds to an avatar’s movements within it, creating a chorus of random ambient music. The possibilities for interactive SL art are endless, so long as they are new. Artslib is a collective initiated by Claire Eike, Betsy Stoll and Alexis Petroff.
