Bayo Ojikutu
Both of the DePaul professor’s novels—“47th Street Black” and “Free Burning”—tell stories of these city streets, gritty, honest and, above all, hopeful. As one of Chicago’s most promising literary figures—whose dedication to using this city as setting is exhilarating—it would not only be appropriate for the citywide book club, but it would show the CPL has some guts.
