The Women’s room at Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre
We’ve all experienced it: an entertaining first act of musical theater—”Legally Blonde,” perhaps?—happy, whistling, heading to the bathroom at intermission only to stumble upon a line six blocks long for the women’s bathroom. A six-block-long line of women—slow, chatty, plodding women. Before long, the lights are flashing—intermission’s over—and there’s still at least two blocks to go. Not so at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts. The women’s bathroom wrangler there must have been a drill sergeant in a past life. She directs the traffic in and out of the stalls and she does so better than you could ever imagine—in, out, move along!—and they do, like privates in basic training. A truly amazing feat, moving two hundred women through a bathroom in a matter of minutes. Oh my god, Oh my god you guys…
