Spokesmom from the Show n’ Tell Show
“Designers are pretentious… they don’t talk about their work in a way that’s non-designer friendly,” admits Michael Renaud, co-host of the graphic design live gabfest, The Show n’ Tell Show. Renaud corks pompous design-speak by pitting his guests against the voice of the common people: Spokesmom, a motherly character portrayed by improviser Seth Dodson. Wearing spectacles, a flower-print housedress and curly gray wig, Spokesmom whips out zingers that keep her guests in check: like a doting reminder to keep their elbows off the table. “She’s totally void of any design sensibility or knowledge,” says Renaud, “but she loves everyone unconditionally.”
