In her quest for recipes that memorialize foodie’s lost loved ones, River North resident Emily Israel Hoffman, in a tribute to her late mother, has assembled recipe submissions into a collection of “Bittersweet Memories.” The web-based cookbook project, still in the works, is one of the first compilations of recipes that are chosen based not only on taste, but on the compelling memories attached to the food.
