Bring back the “Playboy’s Penthouse” TV program
The new documentary “Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel” proves that Hefner, the Playboy empire and this city reached their pinnacle of cool in the early sixties. Back then the variety show “Playboy’s Penthouse,” filmed in Chicago and set at a swinging party in a fictional bachelor pad with real booze, featured luminaries like Lenny Bruce, Sarah Vaughn, Pete Seeger and Sammy Davis Jr. As host, Hef looked dashing with his tuxedo and pipe. Since “Mad Men” has sparked an appreciation of Kennedy-era fashion—and classy rooftop lounges abound here—Playboy should reboot the show, setting it at the surprisingly stylish Terrace at Trump Tower.
Audience choice:
Return to Chicago; bring back the class and bring back the Playboy Club (TIE)
Others that were mentioned a few times, amused us or seemed especially weird:
“Put me in it! Me! MEEEE!”
“weird porn photos, like with meatloaf and butterscotch party”
“Find a new Hugh Hefner”
