The Chicago quartet was a top-four finalist in Rolling Stone’s “Do You Wanna Be a Rock & Roll Star?” contest, in which the winning band graced the cover of the magazine (the first time an unsigned band accomplished this). The contest started in the winter and concluded in the summer, when the indie rockers were beat out by cover winners The Sheepdogs. The contest gained the band enough exposure where they’ll probably sign to a label and become even more ubiquitous.
