Shameless
William H. Macy is a grade-A asshole in Showtime’s American adaptation of the darkly comedic British award-winner. He plays conniving alcoholic Frank Gallagher, whose clan of children and acquaintances fend for themselves on the city’s South Side. The cast, particularly Emmy Rossum as the eldest Gallagher offspring and de facto parental figure, is brilliant. But our own Joan Cusack shines especially bright as the agoraphobe Frank shacks up with.
