The Chicago Code
In February, the Fox series about corruption in Chicago debuted to much excitement around town because all thirteen episodes were actually filmed in the city. Adding to its authenticity, the show was created by Rockford native Shawn Ryan and featured South Side native Jennifer Beals portraying the first female Chicago police superintendent. Hell, Billy Corgan even sang the theme song. Unfortunately, the rest of America was less infatuated, so it was quickly canceled. Despite the premature departure, hopefully the “Code” will inspire other Chicago-set shows to actually film here, like “The Good Wife.” We won’t hold our breath.
