This Must Be the Band
Chicago’s This Must Be the Band may refer to themselves as “a Talking Heads tribute band” but, as anyone who’s ever seen them burning down the house in person can attest, their performances are not so much “tribute” as “glorious resurrection.” And yes, we may live in a world where even Frank Black and Kim Deal (to say nothing of David Lee Roth and the rest of Van Halen) can kiss and make up just long enough to cash in on that nostalgia money, but considering the notorious acrimony between David Byrne and the rest of the Heads—and that David Byrne doesn’t have any drug, gambling or women problems bleeding his bank account dry—your chances of seeing them play live again are about as slim as that INXS reunion you’ve been pining for. (What—too soon?)
