CCLaP (Chicago Center for Literature & Photography)
When it was founded in 2007, the Chicago Center for Literature and Photography (CCLaP) published a weekly podcast and extensive movie reviews, but has since flourished into a full-fledged book publisher, with over two dozen in print—many of which are hand-bound in limited editions by founder and executive director Jason Pettus. Each book is also available for download in e-book format for free or for a small donation from CCLaPcenter.com. This year, CCLaP launched a monthly magazine, and has begun selling rare books online. Doomsayers of the book beware—CCLaP is keeping publishing relevant and beautiful.
