Wired Weird
Artist Rich Szczepanski took a concept akin to street caricatures into the 3D realm with his project Wired Weird. Using spools of wire, he fashions faces, masks, animals, even ice-cream cones on occasion. The process began out of hundreds of pencil-drawn faces from his Neglected Renderings project. Szczepanski began molding wire faces from that collection, yielding an abstract realism that makes the work singular. In the last six months you might have seen his work displayed at the Rainbo Club, Do Division Fest or at an ongoing exhibit at Township.
