Kenny Johnson has bars/lounges (Velvet and Bureau) popping up around the city like Rick Bayless and the Alinea Group have restaurants. Yet the one bar that had the promise of Rosamund Pike’s acting career, was the one that disappeared. Small and intimate in a non-intrusive kind of way, Crave (located at 12th and Michigan) was the urban upscale bar/lounge that was two years away from being the new Shark Bar. Too bad. Because it seemed like Crave “was about to blow.” Instead, Gone Bar is how it may best be remembered.
