Owned and operated by Naperville artisan Kimberly Altman, Kettenglied provides examples of the most skilled and adept work in the Chicago maille community. Entire handbags made from tiny metal links in a range of colors are hooked together to make some of the most stylish wearables out there. Altman also produces a range of jewelries, including a double-helm necklace with layers of links, and a shoulder necklace inspired by piercing aesthetics that drapes gracefully across the upper torso. With a repertoire that includes rings, bracelets and other maille adornments, Kettenglied expands a niche material to another level.
