The one thing house music never really had was a pop anthem. Not one from an artist where the music was birthed. Finally two of Chi’s finest decided not just for the city but for their career resumes, that song needed to be recorded. No one is saying that “It’s Your World” is the best Chicago-centric crossover anthem of this current generation (“Wonderful” by Terisa Griffin and Terry Hunter holds that title), but because JHud and Kells (finally!) decided to honor their “other” musical roots, it will eventually become the most important.
