Bike A Bee
Made by local cycling enthusiast and urban farming champ Jana Kinsman, Bike A Bee honey is the definition of conscientious production. While other businesses can just post up a “green” sticker, Kinsman actually discusses her methods on her blog. Taking two days each week to tend hives in fifteen different locations throughout the city, the nectars are grown and harvested, and the hives stored during winter months, and new bees brought from Indiana each spring. Descriptions from Kinsman of the flavors of honey span a panoply of summer flowers, a taste sure to offer a brief respite in a city of such famous winters.
