Edward Gorey at LUMA
Loyola University Museum of Art held not one, but two of the year’s most talked about exhibits, both showcasing the work of Chicago-born artist Edward Gorey. Gorey’s stylistic black and white drawings, characteristically a bit creepy, were supplemented by all manner of Gorey ephemera. His dark humor has been the inspiration for many, including Tim Burton. It was a treat to see this work in Chicago, if only they’d waited until fall where it would have been right at home.
