SAIC and the League of Extraordinary Genders
The School of the Art Institute has been boldly rethinking the ways that gender are institutionalized over the past year: it’s made twenty-six bathrooms on campus gender neutral, updated healthcare policies to be transgender-inclusive, and released a booklet by the student group League of Extraordinary Genders that introduces readers to a spectrum of ways to think and talk about gender. In the spring, the school hosted Drag and Burlesque Werkshops in collaboration with JRV Majesty Productions that offered three educational talks about the ways performers and activists are working to expand notions of gender.
