Renaming Cook County for the president would offer symbolism for both sides of the aisle: a corrupt, nonfunctional edifice bearing the name of a man loathed by conservatives; for the more liberally-inclined, there’s the image of Obama presiding over an institution that’s sometimes referred to as the country’s largest psych ward: i.e., the recalcitrant zombies of the other branches of government.
