It’s open twenty-four hours, round the clock
Good service all the time, there’s always something going on.
Always something going on.
Simple Menu… excellent service.
You know this is a song about White Castle.
Because when you are on your way home at 4am,
White Castle is always open… Even on Christmas.
But if you are at White Castle on Christmas, you are out of luck.
Then again, maybe not.
You know you won’t argue about who gets the drumstick.
Or have to pretend to eat the green bean casserole,
the one with the Campbell’s mushroom soup, and canned French-fried onions.
I can just see the lights of the White Castle, gleaming like an oasis.
A beacon on a street filled with shuttered, lifeless buildings.
Inside there is the familiar smell of grease and grilled onions.
Then there are the people inside.
The newspaper driver, the neighborhood homeless person.
Or the husband and wife, with children in tow, speaking in hushed tones.
Some long-simmering family issues prompted a hasty exit from the in-laws.
But don’t worry. White Castle is open; there are sliders.
The kids are happy… Christmas has been saved.
It’s open twenty-four hours, round the clock.
Good service, open all the time.
There’s always something going on…
Always something going on…
Always something going on, always something going on….
