The perpetual problem with music venues is that supporting your favorite artists by running up a healthy bar tab means that the siren call of the music must inevitably succumb to the silent call of nature. The bathrooms at The Green Mill, however, are directly adjacent to the stage (in fact, a little nakedly so; you have to accept that everyone in the room is going to know your business), so that while you’re relieving yourself, you’re not missing a literal beat. In fact, if you’re seated up front by the door, you may be getting better sonics in the stall than you are in your seat. And given that The Green Mill is home to such virtuoso jazz acts as Patricia Barber Quartet, Fat Babies, Alan Gresik Swing Shift Orchestra and Sabertooth Organ Quartet, this is good news indeed. So zip up, head out and order another round.
