Thomas Tresser
Formerly headquartered at the recently-defunct CivicLab, public defender and civic educator Thomas Tresser, most famously of anti-Olympics-bid fame, has long been known as operating in a Saul Alinsky tradition to protect public interests, whether protesting the giveaway of public park lands as a tactic to lure corporate investment, tracking the distribution and misallocation of TIF funds, or speaking up at town hall public assemblies on a litany of issues. Tresser’s honest, rigorous efforts make the city a better place for all its citizenry, not just those who can afford to buy the entitlements usually afforded those in power.
