To a packed house of students, faculty and distinguished guests in the School of the Art Institute’s capacious Rubloff Auditorium, international art world megastar and Lady Gaga album cover designer Jeff Koons gave an inspiring hour-long lecture on the meaning of art, life and inflatable pop decadence. After rebuffing a student query about the blatant misogyny in his work, Koons concluded his remarks with the following answer to the question “Jeff, what is Art?” According to Koons, “Art is an experience an individual has of the essence of their own potential.” Who needs a life coach when you have Jeff Koons?
