Daniel Knox
Daniel Knox’s spirited piano and booming-turned-ghostly voice cheerfully expose humanity’s basest instincts and neglected recluses making them astonishingly more human. The wrathfully comedic tone betrays his more affable yet undoubtedly righteous side and his darkest subjects grow to be the drollest—sordid acts, reviled exes, predators, germs, vengeance and unending torment. But interspersed amongst the vitriol, a melody unpredictably reveals a genuine, sorrowful tenderness festering below the acerbic surface. Bad wishes cannot make things come true but wishing them anyway can be incredibly cathartic. Check out his newest album, “Daniel Knox,” and crack a smile at the looming apocalypse.
