Wielding a combined twenty-one years of service at Kavi Gupta Gallery, one could say that Julia Fischbach and Emanuel Aguilar did hard time before embarking on an independent venture in Chicago’s commercial gallery market this summer. With an intimate stable of artists, Patron Gallery is still a work-in-progress, but one that is necessary if the city hopes to cultivate the robust collector culture it needs to sustain its artist class.
