Chances Dances has made safe spaces for the Chicago queer community for ten years, evolving from an ad-hoc party gathering to monthly inclusive dances and a formidable granting program offering direct financial support to queer artists of color. This fall, Chances celebrated a beautiful, queer decade with “Platforms,” two months of exhibitions, parties, panels and, of course, dances. Critically fierce and critically important, Chances enacts the social change that we all hope is possible in making art.
