“Fusion” had become a tired, overused term. Then, Brit-Indian Pub Royale came along and won us over with a mashup we hadn’t seen before. The garlic naan is like no other, with blackened charred pockets and greasy garlic flavor. You’ll be fighting over the lamb dumplings splashed with chili oil and even the salad is unique, with sprouted lentils, crunchy chickpeas and curry dressing. Save room to cool off your taste buds from the heat with a Knickerbocker Glory (ice cream, meringue, and fruit: a classic). If only all bar food were one-half this exciting.
