It’s actually selling Uptown Underground short to call it a cabaret; it’s more like a fully fledged vaudeville operation, with cabaret sharing the week with theme nights devoted to stand-up comedy, magic acts, burlesque and boylesque, and more. But cabaret seems to be a mainstay, owning both Tuesdays (right now Elaine Dame and Jeff Bouthiette are headliners)—and Saturdays, when the fare is decidedly more ribald. There’s a definite, and very welcome, Weimar Republic vibe going on here.
