As fun to say as it is horrifying to contemplate, SUPES is the new word in bold public corruption. Fostered by a truly immoral public servant (Chicago Public Schools’ CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett), this grossly overpaid consultation deal (twenty million dollars!) would never have come to be without the blessing of the school board. Triple B appears headed for jail, but what was the consequence for those enabling school board members? Not much. One board member (Andrea Zopp) is running for U.S. Senate while two other members (Jesse Ruiz and Mahalia Hines) still serve on that see-no-evil-hear-no-evil mayoral appointed body.
