Nicholas Barron
Every Sunday at Buddy Guy’s Legends, Nicholas Barron does a three-hour set—alone—where he manages, by means of acoustic bass, beatbox and mouth percussion, to tear the place down more efficiently than your average wrecking crew. No doubt he’s got mad skills; but there’s no denying his voice is the glue that holds it all together—it’s got both the liquid and the gravel required to pull off everything from soul ballads to Chicago blues. Too bad this list isn’t broader; Barron could also qualify for “band least likely to break up.”
