Bike traffic and safety are two areas CDOT has focused on with their Complete Streets plan, enriching the bike infrastructure across the city. The addition of the Clybourn Avenue protected bike lane is the first of its kind in the city, giving cyclists a cement buffer between motor vehicle traffic. It widens the lane and allows more bike riders to safely use this cut-through where Clybourn begins at Division. The once-quiet corridor has caught on with two-wheel traffic like its diagonal counterparts Elston and Milwaukee Avenues.
