Hiring Ray St. Ray is a matter of a “selective cosmic process.” “Random chance is how I roll,” he explains. “Sure people can hire me for a few hundred dollars, but that’s mostly to discourage people calling me to take them to the next bar.” In this gig for “twenty-four years, five months and nine days,” Ray sings all originals, which he wrote while driving.
