Every Tuesday, Margaret Murphy-Webb and Anderson “Sonny” Edwards somehow pull together the kind of party the rest of us would call once-in-a-lifetime. The stage at “the Fifty” is always packed with players—everything from the usual guitarists and trumpeters to rare birds like vibes men and flautists—and the energy level is through the roof. Singers are treated like royalty, which makes this jam a rare bird in its own right, and as the night swings on there’s a growing sense of community that makes the whole thing irresistible.
