The Undefeated’s Town Hall meeting
It’s always been easy for media outlets and Fortune 500 companies to sit back and watch people in urban neighborhoods kill each other without them getting directly involved. So when ESPN used its latest digital platform—theundefeated.com—to open up nationwide dialogue on the issues of the Chicago community—guns, violence and political responsibility—it spoke louder than the ninety minutes of air time the network dedicated for the platform. And although some of the people who the town hall was for didn’t care about community concerns, it was an effort that was needed by any—and all—means.
