The Drinkingbird
Trends rule cyberspace and thus our collective consciousness. This leads to redundancies in media, social or otherwise, and the omission of bucketloads of perfectly adequate eateries and watering holes. Rarely mentioned are neighborhood joints like The Drinkingbird that are, in fact, far past adequate. Retro interior, dim red lights, long bar, tufted leather booths in back, a pool table, weekly specials—all positive signifiers of a good time in Chicago. Tack on superior bar snacks like a spud-free olive-stuffed tot and first-rate cocktails made by relevant bartenders to pristine results, sans Kold-Draft, and that, folks, is a bar worth your bottom and dollars.
