With the arcade hall-meets drinking emporium still quite popular in Chicago, important decisions must be made about choice of games. With Q*bert, whether altered or not, whatever state of mind you are in is fine for using one hand (keeping the other free for your libation) to guide this quirky little character squonking up and down his geometric multicolored landscape. You need to avoid (or catch) bouncing balls, squiggly snakes and really scary crablike things in order to change the colors of your boxes. Plus, if you jump on a hovering disk at the right time you can knock them all out. Just don’t jump off at the wrong time…plonk.
