In West Loop and Pilsen the power of recycling books (not recycled books) has become sorta like a big deal. Dealing with not only CPS and charter school students from K-12 but non-students in the communities they serve, this “reading is not just fundamental but a necessity” project is making spending time with books communal again. It’s Oprah’s Book Club for those who really need to read but always had limited access or a limited understanding of the power it holds.
