There are tons of DJ residencies throughout the city, but the Tuesday night Wax On Wax Off open-participation residency taking place twice a month at The Mutiny is hard to beat. Bring your own headphones and pressed wax and you can fill one of the ten half-hour slots with your favorites. Evenings usually come with drink specials, not to mention their famous, abnormally gi-normous frosty steins of shit beer for just five bucks. Of course, you’ll have to swat the occasional cockroach while listening to the lineup spin seven inch versions of your favorite Yeah Yeah Yeah/Phil Collins remix, but it’s all part of the charm. On top of everything else, a few times a year they host a record swap where you can come trade out vinyl from your collection and enjoy heaps of barbeque completely free of charge.
