Largely going under the radar, this year’s performance tour stop by New York performance artist Champagne Jerry at the Defibrillator Gallery was something special. At once a song-and-dance, meta white-boy rap slash variety slash theater of cruelty showcase slash, slash, slash; it was a beautiful pileup of referents, memes and seamless imaginative grinder that put out a perfect, and often perfectly lowbrow glam, kind of sausage.
