Alas, the Defibrillator Gallery’s annual Rapid Pulse Festival is on hiatus. Despite a shortfall of funding sources that forced curators Joseph Ravens and Giana Gambino to cut back and take stock, the quality of the most recent Rapid Pulse remained strong. Ravens vows the festival will continue despite such setbacks and we certainly hope that’s the case. As the only festival of its kind taking place in the city, the intrepid international showcase has grown over five short years into a destination for performance art like nowhere else.
