Costume Council of the Chicago History Museum
With more than 50,000 costumes and textile artifacts from the mid-eighteenth century to the present, the Chicago History Museum has the second-largest costume collection in the world—one that highly reflects the vibrant histories of our city. Co-hosting the museum’s frequent costume-based, one-of-a-kind exhibitions, the Costume Council moves beyond preservation and conservation to the interpretation of the history and the art of costume. And in celebrating the fashion world’s past, present and future, it hosts some of the most anticipated galas of the year. Naturally we’re talking true sartorial extravaganzas.
