With more than 50,000 costumes and textile artifacts from the mid-eighteenth century to the present, the Chicago History Museum has the second-largest costume collection in the world—one that highly reflects the vibrant histories of our city. Co-hosting the museum’s frequent costume-based, one-of-a-kind exhibitions, the Costume Council moves beyond preservation and conservation to the interpretation of the history and the art of costume.
