With a goal to transform the lives of young people through writing and performance, Young Chicago Authors has shaken up poetry, songwriting and playwriting well beyond the borders of Chicago. Under the guidance of Kevin Coval and Rebecca Hunter, YCA and its affiliated Louder Than A Bomb poetry festival have celebrated thousands of young voices and inspired many more. WordPlay, its regular youth open mic and workshop series, boasts famous alumni, including Chance the Rapper.
