Drinking wine from a goddamn glass
It’s not earth-shattering, especially after paying a premium for the small rooms in a theater like AMC Dine-in Theatres Block 37, but aside from the liquor options that are sustaining the bottom line of movie theaters from large to small across Chicago, it’s stretching out for a properly projected movie in a nice seat, almost comfortable enough to fall asleep in, and have an adult beverage of choice. Some theaters pour drinks into plastic cups for theater consumption, like the Music Box and the Logan (which offers a boxed wine that holds three glasses, for the economy guzzle). But a nice, heavy-bottomed teardrop-shaped glass held in the hand as a grown-up picture unspools, with a so-so, not-that-bad-really, not that expensive cabernet in hand? Not too shabby.
