Darling Shear
Hardly any dancer or performer in the city stands out as loud and proud to be a queer person of color as Darling Shear. Coming out a few years ago, Darling has appeared almost everywhere in Chicago in full, glorious feminine regalia, whether it’s on the trading-room floor of EXPO Chicago, on stage with the Neo-Futurists, at the Athenaeum Theatre, the MCA, or taking part in any of the variety of dance and performance productions at Links Hall or elsewhere, Darling is a force. An endearingly at times soft-spoken voice for the trans and T/QPOC communities, she has also affirmed her place as a leading dance artist and performer in the city.
