The Amazing Acro-Cats
A longtime figure in the world of trained animal acts, Samantha Martin has worked for decades providing Hollywood studios with trained animals for film and television through her company, Samantha’s Amazing Animals. In 2012, she launched a Kickstarter to refurbish a rundown RV and the following year began touring the States and Canada with her new act, The Amazing Acro-Cats. As the cats began touring around and scored an appearance last year on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” Martin and the circus have grown into something now of an internet phenom, with a devoted following among fans of the headline act, the cacophonous Rock Cats, “the only cat band in existence.” None of the twenty-nine other domestic cats in the litter seem capable of competing for fan affection with white-haired band leader, Tuna, whose unwavering stoicism during performances have added a new dimension to cat disaffection.
