Just up the road, Toro Sushi beckons, with its BYOB, its handful of tables and fantastic sushi. You’re going to have to wait, especially on a Friday or Saturday, and as you walk south, Frank’s is the first tolerable place you see. They’ll drop your wine or beer in the fridge for you while you drink. They’ll put on whatever game you’re into. They’ll find a way to charm you with banter, whether you’re a recent Big Ten grad or a vegan line cook between shifts. Soon, you begin to hope the wait at Toro is at least an hour.
