Strapped for cash or any other form of money, with a school system nearly one billion dollars in debt and no funds from the state to help operate the mayhem, the mayor mysteriously “discovers” $100 million to put 900 more police on the streets, thinking it’s going to change the roots of the city’s violence problems. Never mind the irony that a large part of the roots of our violence are due to economic and educational conditions.
