Faust is the sort of design artist that many designers aspire to become but never manage to transcend their trade. Whether backing collaborator Nick Cave—whose work wouldn’t reach its masterful degree of virtuosity without him—or creating interactive scenery for Carrie Hanson and The Seldoms entirely out of brassieres, designing the banners commemorating Chicago art landmarks in recognition of the Year in Public Art Program for the Loop Alliance, Faust is well in line to become Chicago’s Dan Graham.
